AI, explained like you're smart but new

aimeaning is a free project with one job: take someone from "I have no idea how AI works" to genuinely confident — in plain language, with no code and no hype.

Glowing network of connected nodes representing how AI learns

Why it exists

Most explanations of AI are written for people who already understand AI. They reach for jargon, maths, or breathless hype — and leave normal, curious people more confused than before. That gap is the whole reason this site exists.

We think the core ideas behind modern AI are genuinely simple once someone explains them honestly: AI is software that learns from examples. Everything else — neural networks, chatbots, prompts, hallucinations — builds on that one idea. So we teach it step by step, with interactive demos you can poke at, instead of walls of text.

Who it's for

Complete beginners. If you've ever nodded along to a conversation about AI while quietly having no idea what a "model" or a "token" is — this is built for you. No technical background is assumed, ever. If you can use a web browser, you can follow every step.

How the content is made & checked

Plain language firstEvery concept is rewritten until it makes sense without jargon. If a sentence needs a glossary to read, we rewrite the sentence.
Sourced where it mattersClaims about facts, figures, safety and jobs are tied to credible primary sources — like NIST, the World Economic Forum, and the International AI Safety Report — which we cite so you can check them yourself.
Tool-neutralWe teach the underlying ideas, not one company's product. Where a familiar name like ChatGPT helps, we use it as an example — and name its peers (Claude, Gemini, and others) too.
Honest about limitsAI gets things wrong, and so can any explainer. Where a topic is genuinely debated or uncertain, we say so rather than pretending otherwise.

Lessons are drafted with the help of AI tools and edited for accuracy, plain language, and balance before publishing. We treat AI the way we teach you to: a fast first-drafter whose work always gets checked.

How it stays free

aimeaning is free and has no ads and no sign-up. It's the on-ramp to a sister project, aipromptgeneer.com, which covers hands-on tools and advanced techniques for people who want to go further. Learn the foundations here; level up there when you're ready.

Found a mistake? We'd genuinely like to fix it. Corrections and questions are welcome at aigptnet@gmail.com — accuracy matters more to us than being right.
